The Puppet Master is a 2D sidescrolling game which uses 3D assets. The gameplay is similar to QWOP except that this has platforming elements and obstacles involved. This is my first capstone (thesis) project, I designed the levels, the core mechanics and the setting.

Story

“All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.”

Once there was a group of malevolent beings who endowed mankind with the power to manipulate objects by the use of special strings. These strings once attached to the object of their choosing will allow control over them and turn them into puppets. However some abused this power and used it on other humans to do their bidding. Thus the use of strings on living beings was banned forever.

 

Now you are a beginner puppeteer, you take fun and joy with the art however, one day a mysterious figure kidnapped your girlfriend and turned her to a puppet. You are then invited to a stage of life and death to save your girlfriend as you play a deadly game wherein the puppet you control dies, you die as well.
